"Terrible experience with this company!"
I was hoping for a smooth car shopping experience. I showed up at 3:20 for a 3:30 test drive and a 4pm meeting with the Sales Team. We ended up waiting around for most of the afternoon.
At 4:25, I was informed that the car had to be paid for by 4:30. I sorted out the payment, but I hadn’t received any paperwork or an invoice by that time, so I paid what I thought was the right amount. Later, I found out I had overpaid. They said I’d get the extra back the next day, but it didn’t happen, and I had to follow up.
We finally drove off with the car at 5:55pm. Honestly, it was the worst car buying experience I’ve ever faced.
When I agreed to purchase the vehicle, I was assured it would be serviced if the service was due within three months. Just two days after bringing it home, the oil change light came on. Available Car had not done the service as they promised. The service is due on February 8th, and now I have to pay to get it serviced locally. When I reached out to Available Car about the missing service, they told me I’d need to bring it back to them for servicing. We live an hour and a half away, which means another day off work. I mentioned I wanted to return the car under the 14-day no hassle guarantee. Well, surprise surprise, they quibbled. I can return it, but they want to charge me £1 per mile for any mileage over 200 miles. Since it’s 70 miles each way from my place to Castle Donington, we’re well over that limit.
Terrible experience with this company.

"A Smooth but Awkward Swap"
After purchasing vehicles from Availablecar Castle Donnington twice before, I decided to check out the Sutton-in-Ashfield location this time. I put down a £99 deposit to reserve a car. When I got there, the team was super helpful and not at all pushy. They showed me the vehicle, and while I was a bit uncertain at first, a test drive boosted my confidence, so I went for it with a cash deal after getting a fair offer for my trade-in. They gave me plenty of time to think it over, and we set up a day and time for the swap, which happened four days later.
Once I got home and took it for a spin over the weekend, I realized it just wasn’t the right fit for me. I reached out to the site to arrange a swap, and I was really impressed by how smoothly the staff handled everything. There were some technical hiccups regarding taxation and insurance, but nothing we couldn’t work through. The whole exchange was completed on the same day, thanks to the team's understanding and support.
I’ll definitely be back to shop here again. Overall, it was a great experience.

This is the only place I'd get a car. It's a fun spot for the kids, and there are tons of cars to check out if you're unsure about what you need. No one bothers you, plus they offer free coffee. The staff is super friendly and really on top of things! Big shoutout to Tom from the green team for all the assistance with our vehicle!!

I would absolutely suggest Available Car to others. I checked out the Sutton In Ashfield location, and Amy, Daniel, and Mitch were super knowledgeable. They addressed all my inquiries, provided a complete walkthrough of the vehicle, and highlighted every feature it offers. Such friendly folks, no pressure to purchase add-ons or even the vehicle itself! The car has been well-serviced, passed its MOT, and was cleaned thoroughly inside and out! It's a fantastic spot to shop if you're after quality and courteous staff.

Everything was smooth until the delivery. After all the paperwork, the car was still getting cleaned up. It wasn't a long wait, but it ought to have been ready. The case for the handbook only had the quick guide and service record, but the actual handbook was missing. Not ideal for a car that's got a lot going on.

I found that there aren't a whole lot of vehicles within my price range. Had to shift the date because of an MOT failure. Managed to get a Saturday pickup, which worked out better for us. They were a bit stingy with the fuel, though. Just enough to make it to the gas station around the corner.
